Proton Gaming, formed in 2018, has taken the approach of creating a top-tier quality esports organization with the goal of ushering gamers into Web3.

Managing Director of Proton Gaming, Scott Lilliston, sums it up this way, “…It will always be our goal to build a highly entertaining and engaging organization which competes at the highest levels. The two problems we also want to solve are, how do we bring real value to our community and fans and, secondly, how do we help those folks get into Web3 gaming safely and strategically.”

“We compete in professional esports and our players and content creators play a lot of Web3 games. We share our earnings with our community and fans. It accomplishes both tasks. Holders of our team token receive rewards each month in the form of various digital assets and in-game tokens.

While the team token will have utility for player experiences, coaching sessions, etc, the fun stuff is the in-game assets. They are from games we have played, vetted and are happy to share with our community. It helps get our followers a head start in Web3 games. And if watching high-level esports is your thing, we’ve got you covered there too.”

Proton Gaming has entrenched itself in Web3 after partnering with Polygon Labs in 2020. Proton is a validator on the Polygon Blockchain. It’s a fact of which they are extremely proud.

“We are thankful for every MATIC token staked with us,” says Lilliston. “It’s easy to see on the blockchain. We use what we earn from the validator node to grow the Proton team and brand. We know Proton Gaming will serve an important purpose in ushering gamers into Web3.”

To that end, they’ve already built tools they see as essential for gamers, streamers, influencers, and others within the esports and gaming industry, and housed them in places gamers already operate.

One such tool is a Discord Bot which can auto-create a digital wallet on the Polygon network, and allows any token on the Polygon network to be transferred to another user within that Discord Server. Lilliston adds, “…we focused on ease of use and think it’s a no-brainer for adding value for content creators and streamers, even if you aren’t ‘partnered’ with one of the major streaming platforms”.

“All anyone needs to monetize their content is a Discord Server, someone who appreciates the content and our bot.”

Beginning with signing highly successful players in the fighting games community like Coach Steve, Proton has quickly moved to sign players competing in other titles.

Last year, Proton Gaming had found success in the Halo scene, and Season 2 of the Halo Championship Series, the team is already placing amongst the largest esports organizations in the world. In February, Proton finished in the top 12 at the season’s first major event in Charlotte, NC, after advancing from a pool including Faze Clan, Shopify Rebellion and NAVI.

Currently the Halo team is a top 10 seed in North America. The future is bright for Proton Gaming and it’s success brings more eyes and adoption to Web3 and Web3 projects.
